Marvin Dan-Hampton Griffin

 ALBANY, GA – Funeral services for the late Marvin Dan-Hampton Griffin, 24, who died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Phoebe North, will be held Sat., Jan. 3, 2014 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 901 South Westover Blvd. with Dr. Daniel Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens.

Dan attended the public schools of Dougherty County, and graduated from Dougherty Comprehensive High School in 2008. After graduation, he attended the Arts Institute of Atlanta where he graduated, and received a dual Bachelor of Arts Degree in Culinary Management and Advanced Food and Beverages. He was a Certified Wine Expert.

Dan later moved to Lewisville, Texas after accepting a position with Diamond Marketing Corporation where he worked for two years in the Sales and Marketing Division for Direct-TV.

He leaves a legacy of love to his loving and devoted parents Marvin and Reba Griffin, and a devoted grandmother, Vivian Thompson. He leaves loving aunts Cheryl Smith of Albany, GA; Melita Walker of Lithonia, GA; Omega Griffin of Putney, GA; He also leaves loving uncles, Cedric Walker, James (Joyce) Griffin; Willie (Jewell) Griffin; Herbert (Genevieve) Griffin, Solomon (Emma) Griffin; Joe Griffin; all of Albany, GA. Dan shared a brother/sister like relationship with Tremaine Mack, Tiana Gordon and Sierra Smith. Dan also leaves behind close knit relationships with a host of cousins.

Dan was blessed to have wonderful godparents, Coach Hampton and Charlene Smith of Albany Georgia, and Mr. Dan Brown of Chicago Illinois.
