Spiritual Focus - Can We Get Along?

By Bishop Henry Brown

Guest Spiritual Focus Writer

Greetings in the Name of Jesus.

The Word the Lord gave me for us this week is "CAN WE GET ALONG?" St. James 4: 1 - 11, 17.

Please read the whole Chapter.  "From whence come wars and fightings among you?  Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?"  James 4: 1.  God said "CAN WE GET ALONG?"

The problem is we do not want to forgive.  No matter who we are: husbands, wives, children, co-workers, sisters, brothers, etc., many of us as Christians are not willing to forgive as we should.  We will never get along as Christians until we become willing to forgive whether the person asks for forgiveness or not.

We, as Christians, should automatically forgive no  matter what the offense is.  Some Christians have been holding on to stuff for years and have not forgiven the person.  St. Luke 6: 37c "Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven."  Jesus forgave, and not only did He forgive; He even prayed for His offenders.  They did not ask for forgiveness, but He forgave and prayed "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."  St. Luke 23: 34b.  Why should people who offend, hurt us have to ask us (Christians) to forgive them?   While they were crucifying Jesus, He was praying "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."  Have you ever prayed this prayer, or are you still holding on to what they did to you perhaps years ago?  We are to be like Jesus.  He forgave, and we have got to forgive, also.  "CAN WE GET ALONG?"

"Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 5: 7.  "CAN WE GET ALONG?"  YES, WE CAN, if we do what this Bible says.  Make up your mind to forgive; because, the person you may have something against may not even know it.  If you do not forgive, Heaven will not be your home.  I love and am praying for you.  Please share this Message with everyone you know.  I welcome your comments.  God bless you as you forgive and "GET ALONG" with each other.  AMEN.
