ALBANY, GA -  Children from southwest Georgia learned how to play golf at the annual Flint River Municipal Golf Course earlier this week.

The annual “Hook a Kid on Golf” clinic has provided children ages eight to 13 an opportunity to learn the game of golf since its inception in 1990, said Roy Snead, Manager at Flint River Golf, 2000 McAdams St

Each year children are given invaluable instruction to help them learn the sport.  Additionally, they are given a starter set of golf clubs and other golf items needed to begin to learn the game. They are taught basic swing fundamentals, there are special presentations dealing with rules and etiquette and golf course maintenance. At the end of the clinic, youngsters get to keep their clubs and all their other materials including a member bag tag that signifies their completion of the Tee Level Clinic.

For the past 24 years,  “Hook a Kid on Golf” programs have been conducted in over 250 communities and have introduced more than 75,000 kids to the game of golf. For more further information, please contact Roy Snead at 430-5267.
