Former President of Albany Technical College Passes Away

ATLANTA, GA - Services for the late Dr. Alvin Frederick Anderson, Sr. who died Mon., Mar., 30, will be held Mon. Apr. 6th, at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Atlanta, Ga.

Dr. Anderson was past president of Albany Technical Institute (now Albany Technical College) and had also served as Director of General Educational Development (GED®) Programs and Evaluation Assessment, from 1992 to 1994. He was the fourth president of Albany Tech since the college started in 1961.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Williams Anderson; sons, Alvin F. Anderson, Jr., Christian G. Anderson, and Leland J. Anderson; sister, Verdelle Anderson Miller; brother, Louis Anderson; a special niece, Debra Miller; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.

Albany Tech current President Dr. Anthony O. Parker, faculty and staff, offer condolences to the Anderson family.
