Albany State Lady Rams Ready for 2012 Volleyball Season

With two weeks left before they open the 2012 season, the Albany State University Lady Rams have their eyes on the prize and are ready to compete for volleyball championship titles, say Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Richard H. Williams and head coach Robert G. Skinner as they announce the 2012 schedule.

The Lady Rams were disappointed after losing to Kentucky State University in the SIAC championship title games for the past two seasons and look forward to redeeming themselves during their 2012 campaign.

“The Lady Rams will be competitive this season and we are excited about playing for the SIAC title and in the NCAA playoffs, “ Skinner said. “After back-to-back losses in the championship games, we are definitely ready to avenge our losses. We will play hard and hope to bring the championship title back to Albany State.”

Dr. Williams said the Lady Rams will offer fans much excitement during the season.

“Our Lady Rams have been working hard in practice to bring a lot of excitement for our fans,” Dr. Williams said. “We invite our fans to come and see the Lady Rams in action during the season and see why we are the team to beat.”

Albany State will open the 2012 season on the road at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Ala. on Aug. 20. The Lady Rams are slated to compete in the Fairfield Inn and Suites Azalea Classic, hosted by Valdosta State University, with matches against Lander University and Florida Tech on Aug. 31 and Converse College and Coastal Georgia College on Sept. 1.
