Albany Advocacy Resource Center Announces Keynote Speaker for Annual Awards Banquet

Albany, GA – Albany Advocacy Resource Center (Albany ARC) will celebrate its 36th Annual Community Awards Banquet Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany. This year’s Banquet will feature Keynote Speaker, Daniel L. Howell, Interim Assistant Commissioner of the Division of Developmental Disabilities for the state of Georgia.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Howell served as Interim Regional Hospital Administrator (RHA) for Central State Hospital (CSH) in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Originally from Minnesota, Dan is a values-driven leader.  His ability to treat people with kindness, dignity and respect has served him well in his 27 years of being in a Senior Leadership role in a variety of healthcare settings.

He has spent his 15 years leading organizations at both the state level and in a non-profit world as a service provider.

Dan’s unwavering commitment to ensure people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities to live as independent as possible have been a driving force in every organization he has been privileged to lead.

Albany ARC’s 36th Annual Award Banquet will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 101 S. Front Street, Albany, GA. The evening will start with a reception at 6:00 where guests will have the opportunity to meet the Keynote Speaker of the event followed by dinner and awards at 7:00.

During the Banquet, Albany ARC President Debbie Fulford and support staff will present awards to people we support for their successes, outstanding board members, and Albany ARC community awards. Community Partner Awards are divided into three categories for Community Service Awards, Collaborative Partner Awards and Employee Partner Awards. The Consumer Personal Achievement Awards and Annette’s Shining Star Awards are the highlight of the evening as people with disabilities are recognized for achieving specific goals from their Individual Service Plans (ISP) and come forward to receive their award.
